Free Brand Alignment Check

This is a quick test to reveal where your brand story is fractured, and how aligned your leadership really is.

First, run the Brand Clarity Checklist section solo or with your team. Then use the Messaging Alignment Self Assessment section for leadership alignment. If there are inconsistencies throughout, you likely have some brand fracture.

Brand Clarity Checklist

For each statement, decide Yes / No. Be honest! No’s are a signal to dig deeper.

Our homepage, ads, and pitch deck speak the same language.
Every leader can explain “Why us?” in <30 seconds, hitting on key points.
Our brand guidelines actively guide creative reviews and content decisions.
Our content engine reflects a clear point of view, not just volume.
Campaigns and assets feel consistent, regardless of channel.
Our proof points (case studies, metrics, quotes) are clear and repeatable.
Creative debates are rare because we have a framework for what’s on brand.
We can confidently say what we are NOT (e.g., claims we’d never make).

Messaging Alignment Self Assessment

Have each department leader answer these individually. Compare as a group.

In one sentence, what is our brand about?
What’s the biggest proof point that supports our story?
What claim do we make that no competitor could credibly copy?
What’s the transformation or outcome we deliver for customers?
Describe our brand in three words.

Results & Scoring

  • If most answers align: You’re on track and your leadership has a shared voice.
  • If answers are inconsistent: You’ve found the fractures. Story misalignment is costing you time, money, and consistency… not to mention headaches for your marketing and sales teams.
